October fuzz

My travels are slowly coming to an end for a while! The days before I leave to return to the US are growing shorter. I’ve extended my ticket- again- to leave on the 11th of November. The final frontier! If any of you have paid attention to the news, you may have heard of the Tsunami that hit Samoa in the last few weeks? Yes, that was the location I was supposed to head to for a week of R&R. Well now, I’ve switched that ticket for Syndey for a few days before my return. I’m actually really excited about the prospect of visiting a good friend, enjoying one of my favorite cities, and just taking in the sights. Unfortunately, I have some bad news about my dearest and closest puppy- Isabel. She is currently coming out of surgery for a herniated disk that could leave her paralyzed from the waist down. It’s been heartbreaking for me to be on the other side of the world and not able to be there but I’m happy I have such amazing people to watch out for her there. I keep my fingers crossed for her full recovery :)

I am still working away at the documentary last mentioned. It’s pretty awesome. A definite possible factor in my potential return. A return? Why yes. Maybe. I have impending bills to pay which may keep me from returning really soon, but I so hope to help finish the film. It’s one I feel really passionate about. And the director feels passionate about it as well. She has even offered her house as my refuge if I can just get the plane ticket. Pretty sweet eh?

I also just finished editing a short music video for the band, midnight youth- a Kiwi band- which was very well received. The video isn’t up yet, but as far as I can tell it will premier here sometime soon. Cavalry is the song. Very poppy.

I am also back at the Brown Kiwi! One of my favorite places in Auckland. It was a hard decision, but the location won out over price. It’s hard to beat a downtown location, and less of a commute against cheaper pay and a run down/ potentially dangerous neighborhood. I may not have much cash at the end of the day for groceries and such, but I’m happy to be back at ‘home’ with my german and french friends. Vive le Brown Kiwi!
