Tsunami!

Yes there was a predicted Tsunami here in NZ yet again. It was all because of the horrible earthquake in Chile. Thankfully I don’t know anyone who was hurt. Anyway, they predicted it would hit yesterday morning, and I was just about to go for a swim. This is the second Tsunami warning I’ve experienced since being in New Zealand, along with a few minor earthquakes. Well I haven’t experience the earthquakes- most of my friends did in the South. Anyway, I decided I NEEDED to go for a swim, so I thought I’d just jump in … with all the people watching. At least I wasn’t the only one, a 7-8 year old girl was in with me. Enjoying the calm before the storm. Yes, living life on the edge folks! It was really weird too because the water was relatively very calm, but a bit murky.

But yet again, no tsunami happened. Maybe a 1.5 meter swell at the Chatham islands, but that was it. I’m started to feel like a storm chaser…like I need to see something big happen (which is really ridiculous) in order to say I lived through ‘X’. It is totally silly, but it’s exhilarating too. Maybe its because I haven’t done anything crazy like jump out of a plane in a while. Hmm. I thought roller derby would do it, but it’s just not crazy enough. Ah well. This weekend I hope to go camping and then maybe surfing. So that’s kind of crazy but in a good way. Lets hope I don’t get my wish (ie. earthquake etc) cause that would really ruin my mini-break!

Oh and in other news, I just rescheduled my flight for June back to San Fran. Happy Chinese New Year! (It’s the year of the Tiger -my sign) Lets hope we finish this film before then.. Wehoo!
